JBWMSC joins HIMAP as it salutes women leaders and its campaign for gender equality in healthcare

March 30, 2023, was a cause of celebration for HIMAP (Healthcare Information Association of the Philippines) as it heralded women leaders in their Q1 General Membership Meeting held at Marquis Events Place, BGC, in celebration of International Women’s Month.

In attendance were leaders of various industries that are involved in the delivery, dissemination, and management of healthcare and health-related information, following the theme, “The Importance of Gender Equality in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”.

The festivities started with Vincent Remo, the HIMAP President’s report, followed by several presentations from Marianne Zarah Cidro, the Director of Account Management of Shearwater Health US and Julie Atendido, the Managing Director and Health Industry Lead of Accenture Philippines who shared their personal account and total enterprise reinvention plans on the evolution of healthcare in the Philippines, respectively.

The event overall highlighted the challenges that women in healthcare continue to face around the world. Since the industry is rapidly growing and is constantly evolving, HIMAP believes that women are empowered to support the growth of health organizations the world over and keep up with the pace of change through sheer hard work and dedication. Thus, the occasion zeroed in on the contributions of women heroes, or as they were referred to as, ‘she-roes’, who are instrumental in making a real impact on the advancement of the industry.

To further caption these efforts, new HIMAP members were inducted and exceptional female leaders in the field were awarded.

The Welcome Remarks for the inductees were offered by JBW Managed Services and Consulting Corporation’s (JBWMSC) very own Judy Whisenhunt, who, along with other Philippine delegates, also actively participated in this year’s most influential health information technology event, the Health Information Management Services (HIMS) BPM Roadshow and Global Health Conference and Exhibition which was held in New York and Chicago, USA.

The celebration was then capped off with HIMAP Board of Trustees’ Rishi Pradhan’s message to the awardees, plus networking activities targeted at ushering new frontiers in healthcare and affiliated services here in the Philippines.
